Homecomings: emotional, raw, exhausted, nervous, excited, anxious, eager… for any military spouse, I am sure these feelings and emotions hit close to home if you have experienced a deployment yourself, am I right? Katie was feeling all of these and more leading up to her husband’s homecoming (peep the tears in some of these photos) because it had been a long time coming… For almost 9 months, Zach was deployed to Syria, and Katie had this day marked on her calendar for the whole time he was gone. NINE. WHOLE. MONTHS.
I had allllll the butterflies and jitters leading up to this unit’s plane to finally TOUCH DOWN on U.S. soil and watch this sweet couple reunite. It was an honor to wait with Katie to capture this homecoming that will always pull on my heartstrings! I mean, come on… who doesn’t love a happy reunion?
These pictures will definitely make you feel some sort of emotion because it shows in them ALL. Be warned…mentally prepare yourself for the video at the end of this beautiful homecoming!
